How To Use Spray Starch For The Best Clothing Apperaeance

Primary functions of the Spray Starch

Although spray starch has a number of different uses, its primary use is as an ironing aid to help remove wrinkles from clothing and fabric. In this article we will be discussing the proper way to starch clothing and fabric so that you get the ultimate look.

Spray starch can be a very beneficial when ironing clothing and fabric when used properly.  However, when not used correctly it can present some problems such as flaking and poor looking garments.

Wash and completely dry clothing and fabric

The first step before properly starching your clothes or fabrics is ensure that each is properly cleaned.  Look over clothing to ensure there are no stains before starting the starching and ironing process.

Starching and ironing clothing or fabric with stains will only drive stains further into the fabric making it more difficult to remove them in the future.  You may also want to consider using a lint brush roller to make sure there are no debris left on the clothes.

This is also beneficial since dirt from stains and other impurities could interfere with the stiffening properties of starch.

Set Up your ironing area

The second step in properly starching clothing and fabric  is to properly set up your ironing area.  Your area could consist of an ironing board, a bed or a table top.  Place the ironing surface in a position that makes it easy to iron.  This surface should also be flat.  Ironing over a non-flat surface could result in unwanted creases in your clothing or fabrics.

Also ensure that your ironing surface is covered with a good effective ironing cover.  This ironing board should also be heat resistant.

Next place your clothing or fabric in a position to iron.
